It looks like that because you're not selecting the appropriate character. In Illustrator/InDesign try using 'glyphs'. In Photoshop use the extra character in the 'type' window. It is an 'pro' font and it has several versions of the same character/ Choose the one you need.

I don't tthink Poem Script pro is a new release. The latest from Sudtipos are Machete, Bayoneta and Platinus Script. Poem Script has been around for a while now.
