Has anyone used filestube to find a font or it's similar free one?

Example would be entering hubertjocham and see what comes up or any associated options.

Just wondering what your opinions are or if people have even tried.

The only character that I care about that is missing is the @ sign, but I will play with it and if I like it enough I will buy the reg. version.

On a separate note, for any of you designers out there, over the last few years of buying fonts, I have not bought a font if they were missing these 2 characters. The @ sign and the & ampersand.

The @ sign is because it is so prevalent as part of an email address and the & ampersand is part of my companies name.

Just figured I would throw that out there because I have NOT bought a lot of fonts if those were missing. An example is that many of the cool fonts on TenDollar-Fonts are missing those so I didn't buy some that I would have otherwise.

So please try to include those as I know alot of people feel that way about the @ sign, because of email addresses and I would like you designers to be able to sell as many as you can.

Later all

Casey was a mighty at bat, so I could see why you or anyone would want the real deal.

I had never heard of that foundry before, but they have a bunch of really nice fonts I'm interested in.

I am not normally into a graffiti type font, but the Graffiti Classic is pretty cool. I'll have to keep my eyes out for something similar that is allowable. ;)

I am not sure of another alternate font, but they did release a free demo version.

I have uploaded it here because it is/was a free font.

Hopefully it helps some.

I agree with Mv, I was going to walk away, but didn't want to give up and figured I would wait and see who hangs on and see where it all goes.

We got lazy and ignored some growing signs of change needed.

I have met a few people that I would classify as an online friend and didn't want to just throw it all away because of 1 or 2 idealistic young'uns.

Hell, I actually have gotten some things done around the house that I had put on the back burner with my over indulgence of checking for links before they got deleted.

Thanks to the reliable people who've stuck with it and let us not get back to where we were and learn from our mistakes.

Take care, Mark

I've also wondered that as well and is why to date I have never downloaded a font strictly from the Fonts101 site. (Just links to ttf's or otf's from the forums)

I tried the instructions MV outlined but I do not get the run option either and no boxes to uncheck. It must be a browser or operating system thing.

I was wondering, is a vector image considered a font?

It seems like on the designing sites that more and more fonts are not yet keyable but in vector format.

A couple of them look like Font Diner fonts, not exactly, but close.

I love Retro font styles, Do other people out here like Font Diner fonts?

No not really

People can ask for a free font that might be similar to some commercial font.

Not everyone are experts in font recognition so this folder can still be of some benefit.

At this point I think it is better to ignore the couple of children who keep preaching without all the facts to back up their point.

They build their portfolios off of someone elses work by modifying someone elses typeface but can't understand in this digital world they can never stop people sharing and need to recognize that fact and need to modify their own marketing and business practices to grow their own business.

I have been here only a few months and no designer has lost money on anything I may have downloaded, BUT they did make quite a few sells after I saw something I liked here and when priced feasibly I bought a font that I never would have.

I love fonts and collecting them, but I keep my personal collection separate from the fonts I've bought so I will always use the appropriate lincesed type, and this is regardless of the fact that I run and work with non-profits organizations only and receive no income from any thing I've designed.

You have made some valid points in the last few days but there are many points that you are missing and I can guarantee you are going to end up a lot more frustrated than anyone on this site.

I don't think anyone is trying to purposely be mean, unfortunately the keyboard doesn't have a sarcasm, hint, helpful or clue button on it.

The overall abundance of people are on here are here to help each other in whatever capacity we can & it is a new board that we have to figure a way to navigate together.

Just my thoughts,

I actually already had one of them, but on the name Avion I didn't see any version that had the spurs/tics. Do you think that was something custom afterwards?

Also, what script might the "Hecho in Mexico" ?

Thanks

Cool, I will see if they sell them on Myfonts and buy them if reasonable.

( I really love the Avion brand one and would fit perfectly for some of my projects here in KS.)

Thanks for your help.
